Un ejemplar de John James Audubon, "Los pajaros de América", se subastó el jueves pasado en Christie´s y se vendió en 5,6 millones de dólares. Este era un raro ejemplar completo (con todas las láminas), y arrastraba hasta ahora problemas legales que impedían su venta.
Existen unos 120 ejemplares completos de la edición original de los "pájaros" de Audubon. Uno de ellos se vendió en Christie en 2000 a un comprador privado por 8,8 millones de dólares, la suma más alta pagada en subasta por un libro impreso. (Newsday)
