Fué un gran momento gráfico el de la España en guerra. Hoy los nombres de los artistas no se conocen, aunque las obras se cotizan a altos precios entre los coleccionistas.
En un libro recién editado, "Pinturas de guerra", Mutis recuerda a los cartelistas olvidados de la República. Helios Gómez, José Bardasano, Carles Fontseré, Juana Francisca Rubio, Horacio Ferrer, Ramón Puyol, etc. son, entre otros muchos, algunos de los nombres que salen en este libro.
Eran pintores e ilustradores que se adaptaron al momento de la propaganda de guerra, lo que supuso una renovación estética del momento y una lección para el futuro de las artes gráficas. Algunos se movían en el mundo editorial, como Ramón Puyol, autor del famoso cartel de "No pasarán" y de famosas cubiertas de libros. (El Pais)
