El futuro será de los "libros abiertos", según leo en la entrevista del Ciber Pais a José Luis González y Karim Gherab, que han obtenido el premio de la Fundación DMR con el ensayo 'El templo del saber: hacia la biblioteca digital universal'
Dicen: "La biblioteca universal digital será la de los libros abiertos", aquellos a los que se puede llegar mediante infinitas fórmulas, no con los clásicos "título, autor, fecha, número de páginas, editorial, colección y lugar de edición", que han definido al libro cerrado, el de la era Gutenberg. Con Internet, cualquier palabra que contenga un libro puede ser un descriptor, pues te permite llegar hasta él a través de los buscadores.
La explotación sistemática de las referencias internas de un texto facilitará nuevas formas de acceso, de catalogación y vinculación entre documentos, pronostican los autores del ensayo sobre la biblioteca del futuro.
"La digitalización", exponen los autores de la obra, "exigirá cambiar el modelo de producción editorial y de archivo en su conjunto". Su ensayo es una señal de advertencia, un aviso que tener en cuenta antes de que sea demasiado tarde.
