Se cumplen setenta años de la muerte en Santiago de Compostela de Ramón María del Valle-Inclán, uno de los más grandes autores españoles del siglo XX. El catedrático de la Complutense Javier Huerta Calvo habla de la importancia de su legado literario: "sin duda, uno de los escritores más originales de toda nuestra historia literaria, poseedor de un estilo inconfundible que supo transmitir a todos los palos que tocó: poesía, novela, ensayo, teatro... Si, haciendo buena la opinión de Juan Ramón Jiménez, el siglo XX en España es esencialmente el siglo del Modernismo, Valle-Inclán sería el autor modernista por antonomasia. Un poeta que, si no brilló en el verso («La pipa de kif»), sí lo hizo en la prosa, a la que contribuyó con sus admirables «Sonatas», protagonizadas por su alter-ego, el marqués de Bradomín, y sus trilogías de «La guerra carlista» y «El ruedo ibérico», además de la que cabe considerar como la primera novela de dictador hispanoamericano, «Tirano Banderas»".
