El estado de los viejos servidores y los problemas que provocan parecen ser los motivos del cierre. A partir de ahora, el tiempo de paro servirá como reflexión para pensar qué hacer en el futuro.
Biblion.com fue creado por Leo Harrison como extensión virtual de la librería Biblion en el West End de Londres, fundada por Rt. Hon. Michael Foot. El sitio web fue ideado en 1999 para ayudar a los libreros a colocar sus listados de libros para la venta. El portal prosperó y, más adelante, se fueron incorporando vendedores del otro lado del Atlántico. Biblion contenía en este momento 3 millones de libros, de 500 librerías. La política de Biblion era no poner precios ni interferir en la venta, sólo establecer servir de contacto entre clientes y vendedores.
