Tintín en el Congo, no fue el último libro del personaje, sino el primero. Por ello refleja más que ninguna de las aventuras de Tintín, el ideal colonizador y, también, la mentalidad racista de la época.
Esta historia más que criticable por el trato que sufren los animales, debería criticarse por el paternalismo colonizador con el que son tratados los africanos.

Por suerte, Hergé amplió su visión del mundo y fue dejando a un lado estas actitudes a lo largo de las posteriores aventuras de Tintín.

Nosotros como adultos podemos disfrutar de sus aventuras "sin problemas morales", como dice Entreti, pero si pusiera ese cómic en las manos de un niño tendría que dejar claro primero algunos conceptos.
