¿Para cuándo el lanzamiento del buscador europeo Quaero?
La Agencia de Innovación Industrial (AII) francesa dice: «Es secreto». En los mentideros de Internet se esperaba la presentación para enero, Le Monde lo anunció para primeros de febrero, y otras voces afirman que se tendrá que esperar hasta abril para conocer las características del que algunos ya denominan el «Airbus» de internet.
Quaero se hace a la francesa, impulsado por el estado galo, desarrollado por el Centro de Investigaciones Científicas, y con la colaboración de grandes empresas, como France Télécom, Deutsche Telekom, Bertelsmann y Thomsom. Francia ha hecho saber recientemente que el invento va viento en popa y, para ir abriendo boca, anunció que Quaero cuenta ya con 4.000 millones de páginas registradas, la mitad que Google y un cuarto de las de Yahoo. Pero el objetivo de la empresa gala Exalead, implicada en el proyecto, es doblar esa cantidad en los próximos meses. Quaero pretende registrar hasta 8.000 millones de páginas web; el mismo número que tiene actualmente el prestigioso buscador estadounidense: Google.
Bueno, pues ya llegará el verano.
