Inicia una nueva etapa bajo la dirección de Ana Maria Moix, con la publicación de dos libros al mes y con un premio cuyo jurado está formado por una sola persona.
Durante su presentación, Ana Maria Moix ha hecho un repaso por la larga trayectoria de la editorial, que comenzó su andadura a comienzos del siglo XX bajo el nombre de El Gato Negro y que después de varias décadas especializándose en tebeos, literatura infantil, novela rosa, de detectives y del oeste, dio el paso a "la gran literatura" en los años 60.
