Los libros del siglo XX son frágiles. Editados en rústica, su integridad peligra si no se les protege. En otra época, los libros se encuadernaban. Ahora la encuadernación tradicional no está bien vista, pues además de ser costosa destruye la integridad material de la edición.
El coleccionista quiere conservar su libro tal como salió en imprenta, sin cortes ni cosidos ni tapas de piel. Es la época de las cajas. Para eso funcionan muchos talleres que se anuncian en internet y que las confeccionan a medida en cartón con recubrimiento de terciopelo o similar. Una complicada arquitectura, que recuerda mucho un mausoleo.

Lo del mausoleo da un poco de grima, pensando que nos sitúa en el final de la vida, del libro en este caso y en soporte papel. ¿Será verdad?

Sí, parece un poco fuerte, pero todas ediciones en rústica del siglo pasado o las encuadernas o las metes en cajas de cartón...
Respecto a la muerte del libro de papel es evidente que llega... pero se reencarnará en otra cosa.
pienso que estas equivocado el arte de la encuadernacion,sobrevive a los tiempos.
Claro, por eso tu madre te trajo al mundo en pelotas y en pelotas tendrías que quedar .
El libro cuando se encuaderna se viste de gala. Cuando lleva un buen vestido de chagreen, piel valenciana, pasta castellana... con un buen dorado en oro... se dignifica. Y nunca, nunca, desaparecerá. Y te pregunto: ¿Quién aguanta la lectura de un libro de 5 megas en el PC? Te quedan los ojos como chirivitas.
